Salik Shah is a highly-skilled, multidisciplinary, resourceful, media-agnostic content architect and creative director with an excellent track record of delivering elegant, result-oriented branding, design and communication solutions to a diverse set of clients including media, advertising, IT/Consulting and Venture Capital firms.

He is the founding editor and publisher of Mithila Review, an international science fiction and fantasy magazine. Mithila Review has been featured/mentioned in several prominent publications including Wired, Boing Boing, Tor, Hindustan Times, Clarkesworld, Strange Horizons, Elle, among others. Award nominations include Science Fiction Poetry Association’s Rhysling Award.

In his previous avatar, he served as an account director and creative leader at a global content marketing firm in New Delhi. A dropout and self-taught media professional with something like a degree from Film and Television Institute of India in Pune, he started his career with a digital media startup in Kathmandu, and went on to copyedit an American broadsheet daily before switching to advertising.

As a writer, editor, video producer, project manager, creative and account director, he has worked with leading media and advertising houses in Asia, Europe and America for startups and multinational clients.

His speaker deck about the new rules of brand engagement has trended on SlideShare with 45K+ views. He has written and designed fundraising pitches and presentations for the biggest venture capital firms and IT/Consulting companies in South Asia. He helped solve brand identity crisis of agencies and multinational real estate firms.^

As a filmmaker, he has co-written a feature film starring Rekha Thapa; worked for National Geographic and Hallmark Channel, and produced dozens of videos for entertainment portals like Bollywood Hungama, including the making of Shahrukh Khan starrer Ra.One for Fahrenheit Films.

I believe content is power and define ‘creativity’ as elegant problem-solving. Driven by a quest for excellence, I am constantly looking for ways to understand, innovate and amplify the art of branded content and storytelling. I work as a freelance consultant; power startups and Fortune 500 brands with high-impact design thinking: communication, identity, strategy.
